About David
Aside from competing professionally, David is passionate about being a father and spending time with his family. He loves to ski, hunt, and enjoys the outdoors with his wife Alexandra and two kids Nayeli and Malachi.
They live on their own tiny farm in Reno, Nevada where they are pursuing their dream of sustainable livinig through a project called Wise Off The Grid. David has been hunting and providing food for his family almost as long as he has been skiing, and long term wants to have fully sustainable food and energy sources. By tackling this dream little by little, he wants to show the world that it is possible for everyone to make a difference.
David is also an author of a children's book called "Very Bear and the Butterfly," a story created when he took his newborn daughter on the competition circuit. The book is inspired by how he met his wife Alexandra, during the "worst winter of his life" with a knee injury, which in turn became the "best winter of his life" as she gave him a new outlook on life.
