At long last, after months of development, two Co-Design Projects with over one hundred families like yours voting on styles, features, colors, and patterns, we are ready to reveal the designs for our first winter gear collection shipping fall of 2018.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the families that worked alongside us to create these designs kids will love.
Before we get to the designs, just a few notes for context about the whole line:
1. All fabrics and materials have been chosen for their high-performance qualities. These include: waterproofness, breathability, stretch, durability, heat retention, moisture wicking, thermo-regulation etc. (more info on the fabric specs in later blog posts)
2. Based on parent feedback during the Co-Design process, we have split the line into Boys and Girls (age 8-14) and "Pups" (unisex age 4-7). By adding higher performance features for the older kids, we will better meet their needs and, at the same time, not add cost that isn't necessary for the younger kids' level of exertion. (more info on the specific features in later blog posts)
3. SHRED DOG will provide maximum versatility for varying temperatures and exertion levels with a full layering system. We have started with the basics, and will continue adding more products as we grow the brand. For the upper body: a base layer, insulation and hardshell. The insulation and hardshell have the added convenience to function as a "3-in-1" jacket (the insulation layer zips into the hardshell). For the lower body: a base layer and insulated hardshell pant.
4. We are also eliminating the need to choose between regular pants and bib pants. With our convertible bib pant, simply remove or add the bib module whenever you want! (more info on this design aspect soon)
